Porcelain Doll

Lisa wrote and recorded “Porcelain Doll” at the age of 16.

The song was featured as the centerpiece for Lisa’s first
demo at The Art of Noise Studios in Hollywood.  It tells
the tale of a girl who never feels quite good enough in the
constant comparison of herself to an external standard.  In
pursuit of perfection, she feels herself becoming doll-like,
an inanimate object that is taken off the shelf for other
people’s pleasure.  In the midst of losing herself she
screams out (to remind others as much as herself): “Honey
  I don’t break that easily.”
